PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINING-THE POSITIVE IMPACT ON RISING DOMESTIC HEALTH CARE COSTS

By Rob Rayburn, Personal Fitness Trainer

There are a growing number of grave concerns that we as a people face in the US and abroad on a daily basis; none more pressing than the rising cost of health care in America and the world. The incoming administration led by President-Elect Obama has pledged to make health care accessible to all Americans in his first term as our president. Our healthcare system is a mess, there is no doubt, and providing health care for all the uninsured is a noble and ambitious undertaking, to be sure. I’m not sure at this point how effective the President-Elect’s proposed plan will be.

There is a palpable anxiety building over this issue with the uninsured asking, “What can we do?” The silver lining here is that we don’t have… Read More...

Heart disease is ravaging modern society. And a lot of this is due to poor dietary patterns and insufficient exercise.

Now a lot of the “lack of physical activity” is a direct result of technological progress. So don’t beat yourself up if you find yourself in the seated position all day.

So without further ado, here are some tips for keeping your circulatory system in top shape:

1. Do joint-friendly endurance exercise: You don’t have to run marathons here, but you should do something that you enjoy. Just make sure you break a sweat and your heart gets pumping. More importantly, however, is to make sure your joints don’t suffer.

2. Have some aspirin: A powerful anti-inflammatory, aspirin does a great job at making your blood less sticky and maintaining arterial health. If you bruise easily or bleed excessively, you may have to reduce intake. As always, consult with your… Read More...

Now more than ever, having healthy lungs is critical for healthy living. After all, our environment is being loaded with toxins that assault your pulmonary health on a daily basis. And recall that oxygen is required to produce energy.

How does your body get oxygen? With the help of your lungs. As you can see, having a strong pair of lungs is essential for living with the highest quality of life.

So here is how to make your lungs super powerful:

1. Work them: Just like other structures in your body, your lungs have muscle. And if you work this muscle they will get stronger. One effective way to do this is by practicing deep breathing on a daily basis. Doing so will help make your diaphragm stronger.

2. Stay away from congested areas: Being around lots of traffic or congestion every once in a while is not going to… Read More...

Teeth Teeth whitening Strategies: What About Teeth Whitening Strips?

We have all noticed them – the ubiquitous whitening strips infused with whitening material you can purchase from just about every over-the-counter drug retailer. They are never economical – however , these services have become among one of the most enduring and popular buys within the $300M annual teeth whitening market today.

Are teeth whitening strips efficacious?

These products are merely strips of plastic made to conform to the teeth for a couple of hrs. At their mildest, these strips supply only 2-4% carbamide peroxide concentration. At their pro strength teeth whitening strips supply 7-14% bleach formulation, and the higher concentrations are usually accompanied with a significantly higher cost.

In contrast, a expert level teeth whitening kit from the cosmetic dentist or from the spa service like Shine Teeth Whitening Services Teeth Whitening (www.shineteethwhitening.com) provides a custom fit tray together with… Read More...

How are you able to tell if you are hypersensitive to the pets in your home? There are a multitude of different causes and sometimes, it’s hard to discern which allergen might be the culprit to your allergies. It might take quite a bit of trial and error to find out, but here are several things to look out for.

You may realize that you have an allergy to dogs or cats because when you get near them, you’ll star to experience nasal congestion as well a runny nose. The symptoms are quite similar to viral symptoms such as the flu, but with the flu, the symptoms persists for about a week but with allergies, they disappear rather rapidly.

Just like people who are hyper-sensitive to pollen or dust mites, itchy or red eyes can also be attributed to allergies caused by pets. You might also experience tearing of the… Read More...

The question remains: is cardiovascular exercise necessary for maximum fat loss?

Even the experts can’t seem to agree on this one. And if they can’t agree, how are you supposed to come to a solid conclusion on the issue?

Luckily for you, I’ve been doing a lot of research on the subject. And the resounding conclusion is that cardio DOES increase weight loss. Here is why:

1. More heart. The more cardiovascular work you do, the more your heart will actually grow. And a bigger heart will allow you to do more exercise with less exertion. More exercise will translate into more weight loss.

2. Increased quantity of blood. More blood translates into more nutrients getting to your tired muscles. Because of this effect, you’ll burn more calories and lose more weight.

3. A lot more capillaries. Capillaries are tiny structures, like small rivers, that transport blood directly into your… Read More...

Gel tooth whitening is one method used to make the surface of your teeth whiter by removing surface debris. It works to restore the normal white color of the teeth which gradually becomes dull and discolored due to eating sugar or from coffee stains. Also, normal wear and tear from chewing breaks down the enamel which causes the core of the tooth to show through and dulls the color. Gel tooth whitening also known as bleaching, can help combat these problems.

There are three teeth whitening options widely available today. Gel whitening can be done at your dentist’s office. Your dentist is a trained professional that is skilled at achieving the best results. In-office whitening produces a significant color change in just a short time period. It is also the safest method for gel tooth whitening. Your dentist is able to control gum and tooth sensitivity due to the thicker… Read More...

In Minimally invasive Surgeries like gastric Banding procedures, or Lap-Band surgery, a band is placed around to make a little stomach pouch. This reduces the longing to graze during the day between meals.

One of the major benefits of Lap-Band surgery over different forms of bariatric surgeries is that it is inconspicuous and revertible method. Lap Band surgery is gave using general anesthesia and can be provided laparoscopically, meaning no giant cuts need to be performed.

The whole thing can be done via a small slit or hole. The band is pulled into a opening made close to the high of the abdomen and fixed round the stomach; no actual cuts are made on the stomach itself. When the Lap Band is in place and adjusted, the hole is sewn up with a a small number of stitches. The band can be without difficulty removed during the identical method at… Read More...

While you are considering if hiring a Kansas City personal trainer is worth the money or not, you need to decide whether or not you are worth it. Yep, this is really all about you and your priorities. People tend to spend money on what is important to them and not give it a second thought. They get cars, jewelry, a better house, spend money on vacations and clothes. Those things are all nice, but kind of hard to enjoy with a body that’s falling apart!

The benefits that a Kansas City personal trainer will provide you are apparent after just a few sessions:

Motivation: Staying upbeat and positive about a workout routine is tough without some sort of motivation. A Kansas City personal trainer will give you words of encouragement to keep you inspired. He will let negative thoughts intervene when an exercise routine seems to be failing.… Read More...
