While dental care in general is similar across the board, there are significant differences between most dental care provided to children and that which is provided to grown-ups. That is primarily because of the natural fact that adult teeth are quite different from the teeth of children, and since they are by nature different their care and treatment is also not going to be exactly the same.

The youngest children to see a dentist, for example, are still in the infancy years. They cannot yet brush their teeth because in most cases they do not yet have teeth – or if they do have teeth those are tiny and few. A dentist will treat an infant by cleaning the gums, instructing the parent how to care for the young baby’s teeth, and my monitoring progress as teeth begin to emerge. Once the baby teeth come in, they need to… Read More...

Ever wonder how come with every year that passes, people who develop new allergies are growing at such an exponential rate? Health authorities are constantly getting us to be hygienic and to keep our homes bacteria-free, but might this just have something to do with the allergy epidemic?

If you live in a modern city, then there is just no way you can avoid the carbon emitting industries. The air which we breathe gets more and more polluted by the second and the amount of vehicles on the road have pretty much tripled in the past 5 years. All these factors add to the contamination of our air, and thus puts more strain on our immune systems. There might be other causes too though.

Our body’s immune systems were engineered to protect against most kinds of dangerous particles and organisms that enter our bodies, but as we try to be… Read More...

Is your baby grumpy and frustrated during the day? Are you waking up countless times during the night just to put your infant back to bed? The major culprit of this is most likely extended day-time naps.

If you notice your newborn baby waking up too often during the night time, you will need to re-train his or her natural sleep patterns and get it back on track.

On the other hand you will have to also monitor your baby’s nap cycles during the day. If he starts looking tired, have your child take a nap before he gets much too tired and is unable to sleep well later on.

You can easily tell by just looking to see if the child is fussy, annoyed, quiet and has no interest in its environment. Keep your eye on your infant as much as possible and don’t delay when you see those… Read More...
