Different Treatment in Oxycontin Rehab and Crack Cocaine Treatment Center
There are many kinds of drugs that people may get addicted to. In drugs addiction treatment centers, the treatments given to an addict can be different with other addicts that consume different drugs. This is because the drugs may have different effects and results on the addicts’ bodies, which need special and particular treatments.
Cocaine is drugs in the forms of either white powder or hard-off white chunky material (hence it is called “crack”). Addicts can use it in various ways, such as by snorting it to their nose, injected it to their body parts or smoked it. It is particularly addictive that even a person can get addicted to it in his first try using it. Furthermore, cocaine can also be consumed by mixing it with other drugs and alcohol. On the other hand, oxycontin is drugs in the form of tablets that is commonly used as a painkiller. Anyone who takes oxycontin cannot feel pain up to 12 hours. The drug can be consumed by chewing, snorting or injecting. This drug is also seriously addictive, causing the addicts to depend on it very much. Generally, the oxycontin addicts have problem with their respiratory system. They also get nausea, dizzy, headache and vomit. They can even die of severe respiratory depression if consuming a large dose of oxycontin. The oxycontin rehab give their addicts treatment by slowly decreasing the amount of the drug because if they discontinue the use of the drug suddenly, the addicts’ body cannot accept it and will cause serious narcotic withdrawal.
