5 Strategies For Improving Cardiovascular Health
Heart disease is ravaging modern society. And a lot of this is due to poor dietary patterns and insufficient exercise.
Now a lot of the “lack of physical activity” is a direct result of technological progress. So don’t beat yourself up if you find yourself in the seated position all day.
So without further ado, here are some tips for keeping your circulatory system in top shape:
1. Do joint-friendly endurance exercise: You don’t have to run marathons here, but you should do something that you enjoy. Just make sure you break a sweat and your heart gets pumping. More importantly, however, is to make sure your joints don’t suffer.
2. Have some aspirin: A powerful anti-inflammatory, aspirin does a great job at making your blood less sticky and maintaining arterial health. If you bruise easily or bleed excessively, you may have to reduce intake. As always, consult with your doctor before taking it on a regular basis.
3. Increase good fats: But even within good fats, some are better than others. And what most westerners are lacking are omega-3 fats. Olive oil, for instance, is not an omega-3 fat. So make sure you really stock up on walnuts, flax seed and fatty fish.
4. Floss: Despite constant efforts on the part of dentists and doctors, most people still do NOT floss. Not only does flossing prevent mouth decay, but it also maintains cardiovascular health by getting rid of inflammatory bacteria. So make it part of your routine to floss regularly.
5. Have some unprocessed cocoa: But be careful because may commercial formulations are loaded with sugar and fat-just what you don’t want. Instead, look for unprocessed, raw cocoa. This type of cocoa will keep your cardiovascular system nice and elastic while also providing loads of anti-oxidants.
Increasing arterial health is more important than ever in this day and age. Not only are people living longer, but modern environments are not conducive towards maximum health. So make sure you take action on this information sooner rather than later!
